New fine art print available in my Etsy shop! I really love this one... later this week I'll be adding some greeting cards to the shop, as well -- probably a series based on this photo. I snapped this laying on the ground, half-underneath a tree that had fallen sometime earlier, with my arm and camera extended even further into the branches, pointed up. Sometimes not seeing through the viewfinder allows a beautiful end result... Seeing the world in a different way.

Hand-knit sweaters

I just bought this gorgeous sweater from Etsy seller All Things Tangled. I love hand knit sweaters... my grandmother used to make me several a year when I was a little girl. This one combines everything I love in a sweater: fitted, textured, boat-necked and blue. I'll be traveling to Chicago next week, and hopefully this will arrive in time to keep me warm!

CoCo Cat

You know how at the end of each episode of Inside the Actor's Studio the star being interviewed answers the same ten questions? One of them is, "What sound or noise do you love?" A friend of mine has the best answer ever for that question: the purring of a cat.

She says it's a lovely sound on several levels, not the least of which is that it exemplifies complete and utter contentment. 

This little stuffed cat, from Marjji's Etsy store, is a purr if I've ever seen one. I love the happy expression on his face, and his little button tag on his collar.
